Westinghouse Mosin Nagant RARE 7.62 x 54R Bolt Action Rifle 1915 WW1

The New England Westinghouse Company is a former division of Westinghouse Electric.
It was founded in 1915 in East Springfield, Massachusetts. Its primary purpose was to fulfill a
contract to produce 1.8 million Mosin–Nagant rifles for Czar Nicholas II of Russia during World War I
In order to produce the rifles, they purchased the J Stevens Arms & Tool Company in Chicopee Falls,
on 28 May 1915.

This rarely found Mosin is in the full wood configuration and in very good condition.

Stamped with te Russian Czar emblem plus the words NEW ENGLAND WESTINGHOUSE
COMPANY 1915 and Serial Number 481623. Bolt head is stamped 1623.
bolt action rifle.

Scare Westinghouse contract. Receiver is dated 1915. Serial numbers are non-matching. Bore is
good with strong rifling. Receiver is SA marked (denoting Finnish use - May be a capture model).
The SA markings on the receiver indicate that this rifle was inducted into the Finnish Army, so at
some point during its service, it made its way from service in Russia to military service for Finland.

Very good overall condition. A desirable 91 Nagant rifle. Comes with an original Mosin canvas Sling.

Wood is solid with usual wear bumps and marks - may have been refinished - but no cracks.

The front sight has been changed, along with the rear sight markings as updates from the Finnish
Army to convert the sight to metric measurements.
