Cal. 30-06. S# A6991. Bbl. 22". Bbl marked over chamber "JA / 30-06" and encircled "dagger" acceptance mark. Assembly number matches on barrel and barrel extension. Bbl retains bayonet lug and blade front sight with protective ears. Adjustable aperture rear sight graduated to 1,000 meters. Receiver markings include "JOHNSON AUTOMATICS / MODEL 1941 / MADE IN PROVIDENCE RI USA / CAL 30-06 SEMI-AUTO". Right rear of receiver carries the Cranston Arms company inverted triangle and the five-pointed star Dutch acceptance mark. Checkered steel buttplate. Two-piece walnut stock set. Buttstock has original construction without added cheeks behind magazine. Forend appears to be replacement. Brown leather military style sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: reproduction Johnson bayonet. 7 5/8" spike blade. Scabbard has notable white stitching and slight construction differences from original. Scabbard and bayonet in very good condition. CONDITION: buttstock has light wear and small scattered handling marks with original finish. Forend has added finish with small areas of wood filler. Metal retains a large degree of its original parkerized finish with light wear. Very good shiny bore. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Joe Tavolacci. (26-428/RW). CURIO. $5,000-8,000.
