WW2 GERMAN REWORKED VZ-24 BOLT ACTION RIFLE.
Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 7046R1. Bbl. 23 1/2". Blade front sight with K98k style hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. All visible matching numbers with many being renumbered in a German font to match. Top of bolt handle number ground off & bolt root is matching in a manner similar to a German K98k. Blued finish. Receiver ring has standard Brno markings. Left side of receiver has "E (Czech Lion) 27" acceptance stamp for 1927. Rifle has several German features such as plugged wrist swivel, added takedown disc & bolt that will not close on empty mag. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Front band is on backwards currently & incorrect shorter cleaning rod present. Underside of wrist has faint WW2 German eagle over "Kg" depot stamp. CONDITION: stock set shows some chipping, improper band removal wear, dings, abrasions, scratches & handling marks. Right side of recoil lug is protruding outward. Metal retains 60% arsenal blue with some screw slot wear, overall fading, scattered oxidation, edge wear, dings & handling marks. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright with scattered light pitting & frosting but strong rifling. (25-6166/MJC). CURIO. $700-1,000.
