Cal. 32 WCF. S#738544. Mfg 1913. Bbl 24" with elevator adjustable semi buckhorn rear sight, sporting blade front sight and full length mag tube. Blued steel frame, bbl & mag tube. Case hardened lever, hammer and buttplate. Nicely figured straight grain walnut buttstock and forend with steel forend cap and crescent steel buttplate. CONDITION: Receiver and takedown ring blue has flaked to silver with scattered even patina & light freckling. Receiver shows scattered light scratches with a couple moderate dings on the left side. Bbl and mag tube retain 90-95% bright original blue with light muzzle wear and minor thinning. Right side takedown mechanism screw is missing; left side is present. It is not uncommon for this discrepancy in metal finish during this time frame of manufacture due to the high nickel content, which often led to bluing loss. Stock set exhibits light worn original finish with scattered light to moderate scratches and minor dings. Right side of wrist near receiver and upper tang has 1/2" chip of missing wood. Right side of lower tang has small chip missing. Near excellent bore shows crisp rifling. (26-1871/BH). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
