Cal. 32 WS. S# 175818. Mfg. 1903. It is fitted with a 26" nickel steel bbl with dovetailed sporting front sight and elevator adj sporting rear sight. The top flat is marked with the "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / -NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. PAT. AUG. 21. 1894.-" & "32WS" caliber marking. The straight grip frame is marked with the early style upper tang marking "MODEL 1894 / -WINCHESTER- / PAT. AUG/ 21. 1894". The hammer has the early stylized knurling. The straight grain walnut stock set is terminated with a smooth crescent steel buttplate. CONDITION: overall fair +. The bbl & mag finish has faded with the exception of the protected areas with the balance having a mottled brown/grey patina with pitting. The frame has finish remaining in the protected areas only with mottled oxidation patches. a dark brown patina and pitting. The stock set has hand wear with scattered handling marks. The forearm is sound with some mild dings. The buttstock has been sanded and refinished with added varnish. Dark bore with light rifling wear and pitting. (26-177/ZAL). CURIO. $800-1,200.
