Cal. 8mm (8mm Nambu). S# 2633. Bbl. 11". Blade front sight. Fixed aperture rear sight. All visible matching numbers except mag as-is typical. Very rare & desirable Japanese Type 100/44 submachine gun. The Japanese put very little into SMG procurement & production, as a result they used very few SMGS during WW2. The 100/44 model was used in Luzon & on Okinawa. This later model Type 100 is a great opportunity for the advanced WW2 machine gun collector to acquire a seldom seen SMG. Rear of tube has proper T100 markings. Left side of receiver has Nagoya symbol & serial number. Extractor not present. Blued finish. Asian hardwood stock set with two piece butt, metal buttplate sling swivels & quick detach canvas sling. Take down latch retention screws on left side appear to have been removed and then reseated without properly matching them to their original holes, yet still serviceable. MAGS: 1-30 rd. numbered "6/972". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked T30 bayonet with scabbard & leather frog. CONDITION: stock retains a high degree of Urushi finish with a 4" crack on left side of wrist, a smaller crack on right side of wrist, a couple notable chips on left front of forend, a couple smaller chips, scattered dings, scratches, handling & usage marks. Metal retains strong original blue with overall fading to a gray patina, some edge wear & light peppery oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled but will need an extractor. Very good bore with strong rifling. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT CURIO & RELIC MACHINE GUN REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. (03-2149/MJC). CURIO. CLASS III. $40,000-80,000.
