HUNTON". This is among the rarest confederate books privately printed for family members in 1929 in an edition of only 100. This is number 8 and was presented to Rufus Washington Weaver by Eppa Hutton IV. This important Confederate text is listed the anthology "In Tall Cotton" as one the most important Confederate books written and one of the rarest to find in such a limited edition. Eppa Hutton (1822-1908) Was a prominent Virginia attorney who was a confederate general during the Civil War, after the war he served in the US House of Representatives and the US Senate. The Hutton family is still prominent in law in Virginia.UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1860 autograph letter of Eppa Hutton, newspaper articles about Hutton and his son Eppa Hutton Jr, his death & memorial pamphlet. Biography of the Reverend Rufus Washington Weaver and list of his papers at the Southern Baptist Historical Library & Archives. copy of 1990 letter from Eppa Hutton to consignor telling of trip visiting Gettysburg and seeing "high water mark" as described by General Hutton in autobiography.
