Cal. 8mm Kurz. S# 6132. Bbl. 16 1/2". Hooded blade front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 800m. Underside of butt stock hardware & lower assembly are both matching to receiver. Bolt & operating rod are mismatched but bear correct Haenel stamps. Very fine late war C.G. Haenel STG-44 with phosphate finish & some blued small parts. Seldom do late war specimens such as this come up for sale at auction & this represents a great opportunity for the discerning collector to acquire one. Left side of receiver has serial with /45 date & "STG-44" marking. Front underside of receiver has Haenel "fxo" & 37 inspection stamps. NFA registry lists "GERMAN SCHMEISSER" as maker. Beech stock & grooved pistol grip panels. MAGS: 2-30 rd. One mag is MP44 & "bte" marked & other MP43 & "ggm" CONDITION: Metal has a late war style STG-44 phosphate finish with 97% coverage over pitting flaws, handling marks, light edge wear and operational wear. Late war guns were assembled with a lower scrutiny towards quality and finish. This example has well struck markings and pitting present under the finish. Action functions properly when hand cycled but oddly safety functions when selector is on "F" and fire when selector on "S". Pistol grip panels near excellent modern replacements showing little to no wear. Butt stock shows scattered dings & handling marks. Very good bright bore with strong rifling. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT MG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. (03-2390/MJC). CURIO CLASS III. $45,000-55,000.
