OFFICER SWORD. Regulation 1850 staff & field in immaculate condition retaining most of its original gold wash on hilt and scabbard mounts, bright frosty etched blade with Eickhorn "squirrel" logo cartouche on ricasso. "WH Horstmann" & "Philadelphia" etched agent markings. CONDITION: very fine overall, 32" retains virtually all polish & luster, "WH Horstmann" was etched over, but "Philadelphia" is crisp on opposite side. 95%+ gold wash, complete & tight sharkskin grip with triple wire wrap, complete buff protective washer partially covers the Eickhorn logo. Scabbard retains most of its original brown finish. PROVENANCE: Marcus Porpora lifelong sword collection. (02-26424-7/JS). NON-GUN. $2,000-3,000.
