Unique Belgian Bulldog Revolver, #12, .44 cal., 4.25" octagon to round heavy cannon barrel, blue finish, checkered hardwood two-piece grips with lanyard ring, blade front sight, and fixed "U"-notch rear sight. Factory markings are clear, with Belgian proofs and acceptance marks on the right side of the frame and barrel, marked with "(crown)/MF" at the lower left frame. Mfgd late 19th-Early 20th century. Revolver is in near fine overall condition, retaining approx. 90%-92% blue, with wear at the muzzle and along some of the edges. Cylinder shows leading edgewear and finish loss around the flutes. Trigger and hammer display silvered color case hardened finish. Grips are very good with sharp checkering. Action is not working and the hammer will not hold in any position. Bore is very good with well-defined rifling. The "MF" over crown is likely for Max Fliegenschmidt, who manufactured Belgian copies of British Bulldogs in the 1890s-early 1900s. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R)
