SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. S# 55871. 20" bbl. Bbl markings include "P / flaming bomb" on right side, "J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY / DIVISION OF SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION / CHICKAPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A.". Left side marked "PROOF TESTED 12 GAUGE / 2 3/4 INCH CHAMBER". Receiver is marked on left side forward edge "P / flaming bomb", additionally marked "MOD. 520-30" and "U.S." over trigger guard. Sliding tang safety. Shotgun is equipped with modified bayonet mount and ventilated handguard. Bayonet lug is marked "W" on the right side. Forward edge and rear lug have been modified by filing and are in the white. Walnut stock set. Smooth slide handle. Sling swivels mounted on bayonet lug and buttstock. Brown leather "1917" dated sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Model 1917 bayonet. 16 78" fullered blade, 21 3/4" overall. Left ricasso marked with "1917" and encircled "W". Right ricasso marked with "flaming bomb / U.S. / eagle head and X". Leather scabbard with metal throat and tip. Scabbard has lost much of its green finish turning black. Metal has patinaed appearance. Well worn handle. CONDITION: stock set has lightly worn original finish with scattered handling marks. Metal has its original dull blue finish with light wear and scratches. Handguard has gray parkerized appearance. Bore and bayonet blade covered with protective grease.
