M1A1 CONFIGURATION. Cal. 30 Carbine. S# 3455166. 18" bbl. Bbl is marked behind front sight "SAGINAW S.G. / GENERAL MOTORS". Carbine was likely overhauled for use in the Korean War. Assembled on an M1A1 folding paratrooper stock and given a bayonet lug. Mag catch has extension for 30-rd magazines. Bbl band is marked "JM". Straight cut slide marked "S.G.". Flat IO bolt. Milled adjustable rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. Milled inland trigger housing. Rotary safety. Straight cut hammer. Correct original folding stock with leather cheek pad and oiler. Stock is marked above grip with "A.A.Q." indicating overhaul at the Augusta Arsenal. Faint crossed cannons at end of pistol grip. Two rivet handguard is marked "S-HB". Green web sling. MAGS: 1-15rd GI. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: fine condition green padded canvas scabbard marked inside cover "MILLTEX PRODUCTS INC. 1943" marked "US" on outside of cover. CONDITION: stock has moderate wear and handling marks with small pinned repair on right over pistol grip. Metal retains 75% of its arsenal rework parkerized finish with light wear. Very good shiny bore. (26-2073/RW). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
