RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 3226145. 24" bbl marked behind from sight "RA / (flaming bomb) / 7-42". These Remington mfg. rifles were produced on machinery from Rock Island Arsenal, leased by the US Government and this example shows the manufacturing shortcuts progressively applied by Remington. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2850 yards. Sight parts are marked "R". Sight base is made without lightening cuts. Blade front sight with protective cover. Bolt has straight down style handle. Receiver tang is drilled through for guard screw. All milled furniture including smooth trap buttplate. Straight grip walnut stock set with 2 recoil bolts. Stock has very faint encircled "P" proof under grip. Brown leather Model 1907 sling with steel hooks dated 1944. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: plastic oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish with visible sanding marks, light wear and handling marks. Metal retains 95% of its arsenal rework parkerized finish with light high point wear.
