MILITARY RIFLE. Cal.30-06. S# 6095523. Bbl. 24". Barrel marked on the right side "SA 12 62". Throat gages 2.0. Muzzle gages 1.0. Very nice late National Match M-1 Garand. Barrel, Op rod,Gas cylinder, Windage knob and adjustable rear sight aperture all marked "NM". Front sight has .062 on the right. Single slot gas cylinder lock screw. Stamped trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked with defense "eagle" on the left and encircled "P" proof under grip. Stock is matched with the last four digits in the barrel channel. The bedding is arsenal quality workmanship. Front handguard unitizing screws have been removed. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: sealed 20 rd. box of match cartridges Marked Frankford arsenal 1961. combination tool and cleaning rod in butt. white plastic rear sight protector. CONDITION: stock set has light wear and handling marks with a light coat of added finish. Metal retains 90% of its original Parkerized finish with light high point wear. Very good shiny bore with strong sharp lands. PROVENANCE: copies of CMP paperwork including research letter and copies of the original Erie Army Depot NRA sales receipt and REA Express receipt both dated 1964. (26-2075/RW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
