Cal. 30-06. S# 3736673. Bbl. 24". Barrel is marked with inverted markings "S-A-5-42". Throat and muzzle gauge 3.0. Receiver manufactured in 1945. T105E1 rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. Parts markings are "SA" except the trigger housing and hammer are "IHC". Square cut operating rod. Stamped trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked on the left cheek area "AN" indicating overhaul at Anniston Army Depot. "P" proof under grip. Handguards appear to be later replacements. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: U.S. M1 Bayonet. 19" fullered blade. 14 1/2" overall. Left ricasso marked "U.F.H. / U. flaming bomb S.". Ribbed plastic grips. Green plastic scabbard marked with "U.S." in "flaming bomb". Bayonet has wear and grind marks throughout. Grips, likely replacement, have better appearance. Worn scabbard has missing chip at tip. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear and handling marks throughout. Metal retains 70% of its worn thinning original parkerized finish. Very good shiny bore.
