SNIPER RIFLE. Cal 30-06. S# 3379300. 24? bbl. Bbl is marked on the right side "S-A-9-52". Post war rebuild of a Garand rifle which was mfg. in late 1944. Conversion was made during the Korean War. Throat gauge is 3.0, muzzle gauge is 1.0. T105E1 rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. Rifle is equipped with an M84 telescopic sight S# 97. Scope is complete with rubber eyecup, sliding sun shade and flip-up turret covers. Post reticle with crosshair. Operating rod is marked "IHC", balance of major parts are "SA". Walnut stock set. Buttstock fitted with unmarked brown leather cheekpiece attached with lacing and screws. Brown leather military style sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: cleaning kit and plastic oil in butt. Bone type flash hider by Hart Mfg Co. CONDITION: arsenal replacement stock set has light wear and staining with scattered handling marks. Metal retains 70% of its arsenal rework gray parkerization with scattered spots of oxidation. Blued steel telescope has light wear and spots of missing finish. Optics appear slightly clouded but serviceable with several scattered specks. Bore has lightly worn lands with frosted grooves. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret.
