RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 436814. Bbl. 24". Barrel marked on right side "2 SA 6 44". Throat gauges 2.0. Muzzle gauges 1.0. Rifle produced in late 1941. All major parts markings are "SA" including the early operating rod, which is square cut. T105E1 rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. Period walnut stock set. Buttstock marked on left side with boxed "S.A. / G.A.W." and "crossed cannons". Encircled "P" proof under grip and tiny "crossed cannons" at end of grip. 1944 dated green web sling. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish resulting in slight loss of wood in inletted areas, but leaving legible markings. Metal retains 80% of its arsenal rework parkerized finish.
