MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 4735023. Bbl. 24". Barrel marked behind front sight "SC / flaming bomb / 7 43". Replacement bolt marked "NS" on top of handle. Remington style safety lug. Balance of bolt parts are marked "R". Aperture rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Blade front sight. All stamped furniture including buttplate and large bow Smith Corona trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Straight grip stock has two reinforcing pins. Marked on left side with crisp boxed "FJA". Remington style "crossed cannons" and additionally marked "RA-P" indicating overhaul and inspection work at the Raritan Arsenal. Encircled "P" proof at the grip and prominent assembly numbers ahead of trigger guard. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Model 1942 bayonet. 15 7/8" fullered blade. 20 1/2" overall. Left ricasso marked "U.F.H. / U.S. flaming bomb / 1943". Ribbed brown plastic grips. Green plastic scabbard with metal throat. Throat marked with "U.S." in "flaming bomb". Bayonet with its arsenal rework type finish has been lightly sharpened. Scabbard is worn on one edge, but remains serviceable. CONDITION: stock set has very good arsenal rework finish with light wear and scattered small handling marks. Stock markings are crisp and legible. Metal retains a very large degree of its arsenal rework parkerized finish. Barrel bands and sling swivels have blued finish. Near excellent shiny four groove bore.
