Cal. 30 Carbine. S# 55953. "CAI" import mark at bottom of barrel. Bbl. 18". Barrel marking behind front sight "INLAND MFG. DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS / 9-42". Markings are very faint. Flip type aperture rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. Early narrow barrel band. Band is unmarked. Straight cut slide marking is indistinct. Flat cut bolt marked "II" and "N". Milled trigger guard marked "INLAND". Push button safety. Magazine catch marked "W-1". Dog leg hammer marked "HI". High wood "T" cut walnut buttstock. Two rivet walnut "IO" handguard. Buttstock is marked "IO" and "flaming bomb" in sling slot. Encircled "P" roof at end of grip. "Crossed cannons" on right side of butt. Period green web sling. CONDITION: stock set has moderately worn original finish with scattered small handling marks. Metal retains 75% of its arsenal rework dark parkerized finish except slide, bolt and trigger housing assembly have worn original finish. Bore has a degree of shine with strong sharp lands. Area of fine pitting and frosting extends three inches back from muzzle. (25-6287/RW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
