U.S. Smith-Corona Model 1903-A3 Bolt Action Rifle, #4831097, .30-06 cal., 24" barrel, parkerized finish, walnut stock, blade front sight with an "R" marked cover, and adjustable rear sight. Included is a green M1 cloth sling. Receiver is marked "U.S./SMITH-CORONA/MODEL 03-A3/4831097". Barrel is marked "RA/(Flaming Bomb)/3 44" with a "P" underneath. Blued Remington bolt is late- war with the square safety lug, and marked "R" on top. No visible import marks. Rifle is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 90% finish, upper band has rust spots and the barrel has tape residue. Stock is marked "RA", "(Crossed Cannons)", and boxed "FJA" (Lt. Col. Frank J. Atwood) on the left side, with circled "P" behind the trigger guard. Additionally, there is a boxed "RIA/FK" stamped on the left side. Stock is in good condition, with dents and scratches, mostly on the buttstock. Action works properly. Two-groove bore is excellent. Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R)
