THREE U.S. MODEL 1904 CAVALRY RIFLE SCABBARDS.
These scabbards are for the Model 1903 Springfield bolt-action rifle. Scabbards measure approximately 33 1/2" long & are equipped w/ four loops for the attaching straps. No.1: Brown leather scabbard. Marked near the top "L-FCO / 1918". Additionally stamped "A&R". Several bored soldier added letters on the inside. CONDITION: scabbard has wear, flexing & staining, but stitching remains tight. Scabbards remains serviceable. / No.2: Brown leather scabbard. Marked "G.L.C.". Date is not legible. Additionally marked "A&R". Opposite side has "A 94" and several letters & numbers, likely made by knife point. CONDITION: scabbard has wear, staining & flexing. Stitching is generally tight. Scabbard appears serviceable. No.3: Unmarked brown leather scabbard. CONDITION: scabbard has wear, staining & scuffing throughout. Scuffing remains generally tight. Group includes six leather straps, three of which have brass roller buckles. Two of these have sliding brass snaps. There are three additional leather straps which do not match the others in style. CONDITION: straps have wear, flexing & oxidation of metal parts. (02-24590-44/RW). NON-GUN. $400-600.
