Stunning IVO Fabbri Best Quality Sporting Grade Over/Under Shotgun Two-Barrel Set, Engraving Signed by Galeazzi, #E691, 12 ga., 28" blued barrels are of the best steel available in Europe, first set is marked in gold "1/IV". Barrels have a tapered ventilated rib, 3" chambers, and are choked IC/MOD. Barrels marked "2/IV" in gold are the same except for choked CYL/IC; both sets of barrels with small "R.A. Day" in gold lettering on the left side and matching serial numbers. There is a gold "IV" on the opening lever and forend. The true sidelock action features a dual underlug lockup, single non-selective inertia trigger, non-automatic safety, and selective ejectors. The coin finished receiver is beautifully engraved with a small flock of partridge in flight, right-left on the left hand lock, and a similar flock flying left-right on the right side. Both sides have abundant game scenes and scroll engraving that surround the birds. Bottom of the receiver features a pheasant flushing, again with rose and scroll surrounding, gold "Fabbri" in prominent caption, and signed "Galeazzi". Blue trigger guard features a gold "D" with an arrow through it, for its previous owner. The very full forend and straight grip buttstock are of lightly-finished presentation grade European walnut, with complete checkering at 28 LPI, and a Fabbri buttpad. Stock dimensions are 14-3/8" x 1-5/8" x 1-7/8". Manufactured in 1989. Contained in a heavy brown leather hard case, with paper accessories. Condition is excellent, with almost no handling marks to the metal, and little wear to the action, which closes very tight and functions correctly. Wood displays typical signs of field use, with several light marks at rear of the forend, and intermittent light marks along the top and bottom edge of the buttstock, checkering detail is crisp. Bores are mirror bright. Overall reflecting light use, regular cleaning and maintenance. A spectacular two-barrel set. Est.: $30,000-$45,000. (Modern)(Property from the Estate of Robert Day)
