Springfield Armory M1922 M1 Bolt Action Rifle 22 LR Training Rifle

The Springfield Model 1922 is a.22 Long Rifle bolt-action rifle introduced in 1922. It features a 24
inch barrel and a 5-round magazine.
It was built as a cadet rifle, designed to mimic the M1903 Springfield rifle for training purposes.

The M1922M1 variant - As this one is - was introduced in 1925. This version had a new bolt head,
an improved firing mechanism, modifications to the chambering, and a new rear sight.
The stock was also modified to incorporate a flat based pistol grip.

Markings: The top of the receiver is marked U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY M1922MII CAL..22 17871B.
The top of the barrel is marked LONG RIFLE CARTGE ONLY.
The safety lever is marked SAFE / READY. The bolt body is marked M2 ahead of the lug and toward.
The extractor is marked C 3998.
The right side of the rear PEEP sight is marked with the Lyman logo and REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.

Barrel Length: 24 1 /2 inches

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Lyman diopter sight. The rear sight is fully adjustable Lyman
aperture sight mounted to the right of the receiver bridge.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one-piece walnut with semi-pistol grip, straight comb,
checkered steel buttplate, barrel band and sling swivels front and rear. The stock has scattered marks
and scuffs and scratches. There is a more notable ding in the toe. There are a very minor scattered minor losses at the edges of the metal. There are no cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has minor wear around the edges with sharp checkering. Overall, the stock is in about Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Parkerized in excellant condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

This unit rates a 9/10 in our opinion.
