GUN BY JEFFERSON ARMORY. Cal. 1 1/2 inches. S# 040. This very high-quality historically correct replica 1/2 scale field gun was made at the Jefferson Armory in Oregon by master craftsman Peter Hoyt. Jefferson Armory precision engineered artillery pieces are highly sought-after. The black finished tube is alloy construction with a steel liner. The vent has been drilled. The tube is approximately 32 1/2" long, 4 1/2" in diameter at the breech and has a 1 1/2" bore. The cannon measures approximately 72" overall when assembled to the carriage. Fitting the hand-spike to its bracket in the tail brings the overall length to 81". The width of the oak carriage at the wheels is approximately 39". The high-quality wheels are 30" in diameter with a tire width of 1 3/4". Brass plate is affixed to the front of the axle. Information supplied includes "JEFFERSON ARMORY / CUSTOM BUILT BY PETER HOYT / SERIAL NUMBER: 040". The oak stock trail carriage is equipped with the appropriate fittings including the pintle and hand-spike mount. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: galvanized pail for the sponge, 23" oak hand-spike, 46 1/2" rammer and an approximately 48" brush & worm. CONDITION: cannon is in very good condition, showing little if any use and may be unfired. The tube has a few small scattered spots of missing finish. The oak carriage and its black painted fittings show only tiny handling marks. Very good bore. (01-29215/RW). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
