FLAT BAND MASTER MASON TRIBUTE BY FEGA MASTER ENGRAVER JOE RUNDELL. Cal. 30 W.C.F. .S# 1393054. Mfg 1946 with 20" bbl., ramp mounted bead front sight. and elevator adjustable sporting rear. Subsequently upgraded by FEGA Master Engraver Joe Rundell of Clio, Michigan as a tribute to the Master Mason Society. Both sides of the receiver feature ultra fine engraved busts of notable individuals who were part of the Free Mason Society. Right receiver depicts WWII American war hero Audie Murphy with Medal of Honor in background, Western icon John Wayne with signature "RUNDELL 2000" along collar and Former US Army Chief of Staff Douglass MacArthur. Left receiver depicts engravings of former presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S Truman. Likenesses on right side are wrapped in fantastically elaborate foliate scroll engraving, Left side with Presidents framed in single line border, lower right bears engravers signature "RUNDELL, W.M.". Borders of receiver engraved with foliate scroll and floral notes with ruler at front right, hammer at front left, trowel on upper tang and Masonic square & compass with centered "G" at top front. Highly figured custom walnut stock & forend are carved with tightly wound vine type scroll having Free Mason symbol at both sides of wrist. Blued barrel, mag tube, lever and hammer. Satin finished receiver. CONDITION: Blued metal parts retain 98% of their custom finish. Satin receiver is very good with light freckling at left side and staining on lower tang. Stock set near excellent with only a couple minor dings and impressions. Bore is good + with strong rifling showing frosting to grooves. PROVENANCE: Formally from the Private Collection of FEGA Master Engraver Joe Rundell.
