LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 32 WS. S# 441641. Mfg in 1909. Bbl. 24" Nickel steel part rd - oct. of with dovetailed Lyman white bead front sight. Factory plugged rear dovetail. Lyman receiver sight. Set triggers. Lower tang marked "7287 X". Factory style H checkered single X pistol grip stock set marked "7287" under the factory nickel plated crescent buttplate. The pistol grip is terminated with a hard rubber Winchester Repeating Arms pistol grip cap. CONDITION: overall very fine special order rifle. The bbl remains retains over 97% of its original bluing with only a few faint handling marks, some minor muzzle wear and a few very small freckles of oxidation. The mag tube retains 95% original blue coverage with some light wear in the bbl band area from being taken down, a few handling marks and a series of small dings on the right side with some old oxidation inside the exposed metal. Receiver has some thinning finish in the carry areas with approx 80% original blue remaining. The exposed areas have a brownish patina and a spot of touch up blue below the loading gate. Buttplate retains approx 85% of its factory nickel plating with the screws showing some light wear to the plating. Stock set retains a strong amount of its original factory applied varnish with scattered handling marks, light scratches and a couple of 1/4" gouges, one of which is found in the right pistol grip checkering panel. The factory checkering has some light wear. Very nice bright bore with sharp rifling and some light pitting at the muzzle. (25-1323/ZAL). CURIO. $3,000-5,000.
