, EPAULETS AND BELT. This fine late 19th Century US Naval grouping is contained within a leather covered carrying case which includes a Naval chapeau with tassels front and back. 1 1/2" gold bullion tape, and a Naval officer's button. Also included is a striking pair of Captain's grade dress epaulets in gold bullion with a silver eagle on the paddle and a silver anchor above on each. The epaulets are maker marked on reverse to Joseph Starkey of London. Finally, the black dress sword belt with hangers has a heavily gilded false 2pc Naval buckle marked on the reverse "HORSTMANN PHILAD'A". CONDITION: all items within the box show light wear overall, however the box itself though solid, shows very heavy wear. (02-26920/BF). NON-GUN. $600-900.
