Cal. 38 Spl. S# V612141. Bbl. 4" with half moon front sight and fame notched rear sight. Mfg. 1942-1945 (240,000 units) in 38 S&W for British use and like this one that is top strap marked "U. S. PROPERTY" along with flaming bomb proof plus "G.H.D." inspector mark. Matching numbers on pinned barrel, cylinder, ejector and its smooth walnut grips. Serrated faced trigger and checkered panel hammer are both case colored. Five screw parkerized frame being derivative of Military and Police Model of 1905 Hand Ejector Model that later became the well known Model 10. CONDITION: good general appearance with numerous light handling marks and edge wear throughout, yet recoil shield has an appearance of very minimal use. Top strap markings are very faint. Near excellent bore. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. (26-2549/NW). CURIO. $400-600.
