Cal. 20 GA, 2 3/4". S# FS40592. Bbl. 28". Model 1000 semi-automatic shotgun mfg. in Japan and imported/retailed by Smith & Wesson. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the cal. designation above a "MOD." choke marking and "MFG IN JAPAN TO S&W SPEC", with S&W's importer information marked on the right. Sides of the receiver exhibit foliate scrollwork, with the left side also being marked "SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1000", followed by the S#. Aluminum receiver exhibits a black anodized finish, with the aluminum trigger housing exhibiting a black enamel type finish. Steel bbl. exhibits a blue finish overall. Checkered wood forearm and pistol grip buttstock with S&W logo grooved black synthetic buttplate. Bbl. features a knurled V/R with aluminum front and mid beads. CONDITION: receiver and trigger housing retain the majority of their original factory finishes, exhibiting scattered superficial handling marks and apparent mildew spots. Bbl. is good, showing some scattered spots of oxidation and pitting, with a large area of wear fading to gray and brown patinas present on the left side. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few streaks of hardened firing residue towards the muzzle. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, with the buttstock exhibiting scattered mildew spots. (25-4809/MLW). MODERN. $300-500.
