Cal. 7.65 Longue. S# F20471. Bbl. 8 1/2". French style front sight. Flip dual aperture rear sight. Matching numbers on butt stock & receiver. Other visible parts appear unnumbered. Scarce French MAS-38 submachine gun made under the Vichy government during WW2. Matte gray phosphate finish. Hardwood stock set with left side sling provisions. Right side of butt has strong 1942 dated roundel. MAGS: 2-32 rd. CONDITION: stock & pistol grip show several hash like marks on left of butt, a coupe light chips, scattered dings, scratches & handling marks. Metal retains 50-60% matte green phosphate with bbl. showing overall thinning & edge wear, scattered oxidation mostly on bbl., handling & usage marks. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bright bore with some sparse light pitting but strong rifling. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT CURIO & RELIC MACHINE GUN REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION.
