Bbl. 4 5/8". 1 of only 564 Model 1935/06 "GNR" Luger semi-automatic pistols mfg. by Mauser under contract for Portugal's Guarda Nacional Republicana (National Republican Guard) in 1935. The bbl. extension is marked with the "GNR" monogram, with a double crowned "U" commercial proof (repeated on left side of breechblock and underside of bbl.) marked on the left. Toggle is marked with the Mauser banner logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, mag. release button, safety lever, as well as the ejector, which exhibit a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, and features a grip safety. Dovetailed blade front sight with fixed V-notch rear sight. Nearly all serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, bbl., bbl. extension, breechblock, and toggles. Strawed parts retain good to large amounts of their finish, exhibiting areas of wear fading to gray patina at contact points, with small scattered spots of age related discoloration. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting consistent light pitting on the lands and consistent dark mild pitting in the grooves, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some smoothing, superficial handling marks, and a few impressions, but otherwise remain sound.
