SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 141811P. Bbl. 3 13/16".1 of approx. 4,000 Model PP semi-automatic pistols mfg. by Walther under contract for the NSKK (National Socialist Motor Corps). This example, mfg. circa. 1938 as part of the first batch (approx. 3,500 in the first batch, 600 in the second), is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by standard markings consisting of Walther's mfg., as well as the model and cal. designations, followed by a pantographed "NSKK" insignia on the left side of the slide. Right side of the frame (chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the chamber area of the frame, which is polished in-the-white. Safety / decocking lever exhibits a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther banner checkered black synthetic steel reinforced grips. Slide features a shallow grooved matte rib, with an integral blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Slide matches the frame via "811", which is lightly etched on the interior, parallel to the ejection port. MAGS: x1 proper blued steel 8-rd. with black synthetic grip extension. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light to mild edge wear and some light superficial handling marks overall. Front grip strap exhibits light fading and a few spots of light surface oxidation, with the rear strap exhibiting mild thinning (heel fading to gray) and some scattered spots of surface oxidation. Safety / decocking lever has largely faded to gray patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting a couple of small spots of light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the safety / decocking lever. Grips show some light smoothing, some superficial marks from handling and storage, as well as some cracking on the interior of the panels, but otherwise appear sound. (26-259/MLW).
