LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 1831. Bbl. 3 15/16". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Krieghoff under contract for the Luftwaffe in 1936. The bbl. extension is marked with an "S" (1936) date code, with x2 early pattern Eagle/2 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Various small parts are properly marked with Krieghoff's Eagle/2 inspector proof, with limited disassembly to include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate (and trigger lever), trigger, safety bar, hold-open latch, bbl., breechblock, firing pin, firing pin retainer, as well as the toggle links, Toggle is marked with Krieghoff's ("Type B-2" die, "The Krieghoff Parabellum" by Randall Gibson) "H (ANCHOR) K/ SUHL" logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, bbl. extension, breechblock, and toggles. Grips and remaining parts are unnumbered. MAGS: x1 non-matching (S#: 3600d) blued steel mag. with aluminum plug marked with a Mauser Eagle/63 proof. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray and brown patinas, with scattered spots and patches of mild to moderate pitting present overall. Strawed parts have faded to a gray patina, exhibiting some scattered pitting, as well as scattered spots of age related discoloration. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting consistent mild pitting, as well as some scattered spots and patches of darker moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show consistent smoothing, as well as some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. (26-1945/MLW). CURIO. $8,000-14,000.
