COMMEMORATIVE LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 180 von 250. Bbl. 4 3/4". 1 of only 250 Luger semi-automatic pistols mfg. in Germany by Mauser, commemorating 75 years since Swiss adoption of the Luger. This example is marked with the Swiss cross within a sunburst crest over the top of the chamber, with an Eagle/N commercial nitro proof marked on the left. Toggle is marked with the Original Mauser logo. Left side of the frame is marked with an Eagle/N commercial nitro proof, the 2-digit year of production "75", and an UIm proof house antler on the rail, followed by "75 Jahre/ Parabellum Pistole/ 1900-1975" in gold characters. Front grip strap is marked "MAUSER-WERKE A.G. Oberndorf a.N.", with "Made in Germany" marked on the rear. Metal components exhibit a dual-tone polished and matte blue finish, with some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, checkered mag. release button, safety lever, and ejector exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Swiss pencil pattern bbl. with dovetailed blade front sight and fixed U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching, with the full S# "180 von 250" marked on the right side of the frame and bbl. extension, and with "180" electro-penciled on the underside of the rear toggle link. MAGS: x1 blued steel 8-rd. mag., with black synthetic plug, marked with the Mauser banner logo on the spine. CONDITION: fine, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes overall. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips are excellent overall. A fine example of a seldom offered Original Mauser Swiss commemorative Luger. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of John Eckert. (26-1164/MLW).
