Remington-Elliot Ring Trigger Four-Shot Derringer, #17478, .32 RF cal., 3.25" barrel group, blue with nickel plated frame, two-piece hardwood grips, half-moon German silver blade front sight, with notched rear sight. Left side of the barrel is marked "MANUFACTURED. BY E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION, N.Y.". Right side is marked "ELLIOTS PATENTS MAY 29, 1860-OCT. 1, 1861". Mfgd circa 1863-1888, with approx. 17,500 in .32 RF cal. Overall condition is fine as refinished, which appears professionally done. Barrels have a subdued blue finish, with a few salt and pepper pits. "Elliots" on the right side of the barrel is a little worn, factory lettering is otherwise clearly defined. Approx. 98% renickeled finish remains, applied over some mild pitting on sides of the frame. Grips are fine with beautiful grain patterns and most of their rich oil finish remaining. Action is crisp. Bores are fine, with clear rifling, and intermittent mild erosion. Est.: $500-$700. (Antique) (Michael Strietbeck Collection)
