Remington Arms Model 1889 10 ga Side by Side Shotgun - Vintage

Remington Model 1889: The last of Remington’s exposed-hammer double guns (produced from 1888
to 1910) featuring iconic twin C shaped hammers and solid steel barrels.

Actually, the Model 1889 came at a watershed in company history. E. Remington & Sons went
bankrupt in 1888, and when the New Model 1889 appeared, it was under the style Remington Arms
Company. It was the last of the hammer guns, superseded by a series of hammerless breechloaders
beginning with the Model 1894. But the handsome old thing didn’t go quietly; it remained popular
enough that the company kept building it till 1908. That makes the Model 1889 one of the last high
quality hammer guns made in this country.

This one is in good condition considering its age.. its around 117 Years Old !!

Wood stocks are sound with many scratches and bumps - there is some minor edge loss to the
foreend wood. Rear stock is good and comes with original branded butt plate.

Dual trigger system and hammers appear to work as intended.

Barrels are 32 inches long - Bores are fairly dark with some patchy blackening from power scorch.
Bluing on barrels and receiver area is all worn off and has a nice antique patina.

Overall a 5/10 condition vintage Shotgun..
