REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Mag. S# 31. Bbl. 7 1/2" with serrated blade on ramped base; proper "Micro" marked frame mounted adjustable rear sight. Mfg. 1959 (1959-1973) as Model S47 having eagle logo near barrel address (without "INC."). Noted Ruger references state that long framed variations were numbered 4 to 1463; approximately 300 units. Standard features of wide spur hammer, wide serrated trigger, unfluted counterbored cylinder, drilled through base pin latch, captive collared base pin, flat faced ejector rod head, steel ejector housing plus long Dragoon style grip frame having varnished walnut grips with black eagle medallions and proper stamping of "C" on backs. Does not have factory safety update parts; original lockwork. References state it was originally owned by Bob Dearden who was Ruger's first Service Manager; S# 31 was his subscription number. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory mahogany presentation case (properly marked "GENUINE MAHOGANY" on bottom) having repaired break on upper right and lower left corners of shadow line cut out. Brass latches & hinges. Near excellent appearing exterior. Very good interior with very small corner of label missing. CONDITION: very good to excellent appearance with some light cleaned peppery oxidation on right side of barrel, ejector housing and right side of backstrap having a grey patina tone. Pleasant plum hue to loading gate. Frame finish, grips and bore are near excellent. PROVENANCE: Originally from Bob Dearden's S# 31 collection. (26-1089/NW). CURIO. $3,000-4,000.
