Cal. 7MM Rem. Mag. S# 4038. Bbl. 24" lightweight with factory quarter rib for scope mounting; no provision for iron sights. Mfg. 1968 (1967 to date) as blued No. 1-AH having checkered walnut stock set with matching numbered Alex Henry forend (dated April 30, 1968), sling studs and factory logo red rubber buttpad (correct rounded edges). Early checkering patterns of wrap around on forend and multi point grip panels that have curved backs extending low to the rear. Of 8,437 No. 1's made without a prefix in the serial number, 801 were in 7MM Mag. and 108 of those were of this AH configuration. Forend has pleasing darker tone of plain wood; buttstock has very nice figure. Lever pivot has screw slot only on left side. Standard horizontally split 1" Ruger scope rings with matte finished Leupold VARI-X III 2.5-8 Duplex reticle scope. Early style forend hangar marked "AH" with early style attachment that is directly drilled and tapped for forend rather than having drilled and tapped pin on later models. CONDITION: metal finish has typical high point wear from hunting use plus slight staining on its in the white muzzle. Forend has especially light handling marks only on the bottom plus hole of attachment screw is marred near its front edge from improper screwdriver (or use). Buttstock is about near excellent with no marks. Scope rings have some marks adjacent to top screws from improper screwdriver use. Bore and scope are near excellent. (26-2020/NW). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
