Cal. 22 LR. S# 3480. Bbl. 7 1/4". 1 of approx. 5,000 .22 semi-automatic pistols mfg. by the Reising Arms Company. Left side of the bbl. is marked "THE REISING ARMS CO./ HARTFORD, CONN, U.S.A.", with a faint "PAT'D MAY 16 '16, OCT. 25 '2/ OTHER PATENTS PENDING" marked on the right, and ".22 LONG RIFLE CTG." marked across the top of the breech. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Reising "IT'S A BEAR" logo checkered brown synthetic grips. Pinned brass tipped blade front sight with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Bbl. is fitted with a threaded coupler at the muzzle, complete with its thread protector. Left side of frame features a switch, which when engaged allows the user to swap from semi-automatic fire to single shot via the hinged bbl. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: x1 dual-tone 10-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting mild edge wear, with areas of wear and thinning that are fading to brown patina (predominately on the bbl.), as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Grip straps show some light wear and thinning, with the heel of the rear strap having faded to gray patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting scattered spots of mild pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics in both semi-automatic and single shot functionalities. Grips show some light smoothing, as well as a few superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of John Eckert. (26-1200/MLW). CURIO. $400-600.
