BREECHLOADING TAKEDOWN RIFLE WITH SILENCER. Cal. 22 LR. S# 284 (Both). Bbl. 20" (without silencer) 26 1/16" (with silencer). Model 922 "Noiseless" single shot breechloading takedown rifle mfg. by Hopkins & Allen circa. the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The top of the bbl. is marked with Hopkins & Allen Arms Co.'s single line address, with "NOISELESS" and the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Receiver, breechblock, hammer, trigger, and lever exhibit a case colored finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish. Checkered wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with flat blued steel buttplate. Silencer seamlessly fits the bbl. via male threads on the bbl., female threads inside the silencer, as well as via a single screw on the underside towards the muzzle. Underside of silencer is marked "284" above the screw slot. Silencer features a dovetailed blade front sight, with a dovetailed elevation adj. V-notch rear sight present on the bbl. NFA registry indicates "HOPKINS & ALLEN" in the mfg. block and "NOISELESS" in the model block. CONDITION: receiver assembly retains good amounts of original case coloring, exhibiting areas of wear and fading to gray patina, scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting, as well as traces of old lacquer present overall. Bbl. shows areas of wear and thinning fading to gray and brown patinas overall, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation present on the buttplate. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting a consistent scattering of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Exterior silencer condition is comparable to the bbl., with the interior showing some carbon build up. Baffles remain intact, with no signs of prior strikes. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT SILENCER REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION.
