VERY RARE ORIGINAL COMBINATION STOCK HOLSTER. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 60. The Model 1905 pistol was Colt's first attempt at designing a weapon chambered in 45ACP. The storied 1911 is a direct descendent of this model. In total, there were just over 6,000 Model 1905's produced with only approx. 440 manufactured with backstrap cut for a shoulder stock. Bbl. 5". Slide has fixed blade front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide behind serrations bears the Rampant Colt logo. Left side of frame stamped with S# "60". Early rounded checkered hammer. Pistol features the early Colt high polish blued finish with niter blue trigger and extractor. Checkered two-piece walnut "diamond" grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original unmarked black leather holster with brass stock attachment. CONDITION: frame and slide retain over 70% original blue finish with only high edge wear, scattered spots of light freckling and scattered dings; notably around slide wedge. Trigger & extractor retain 80% vibrant original niter blue. Very good grips retain 70% or their original varnish with scattered areas of flattening to diamonds. Bore is generally bright with strong rifling having mild frosting in grooves. Mechanically excellent. Holster is in very good condition overall, stitching is tight. Light craquelure and flexing at hinge. Brass attachment lug has a mellow mustard patina. (26-928/BH). CURIO. $25,000-37,500.
