WESSON SINGLE SHOT DERRINGER. Cal. 32. S# 78. 6" overall; 3.5" octagonal to round barrel, "F. WESSON / PATENTED OCT. 25, 1859". Only earliest production in brass frame, tip-up barrel locked with projecting lever on bottom. CONDITION: very good overall, smooth gray stained barrel, traces of blue in protected areas, smooth brass patina, traces of dark silver plate, grips retain 95% of their original varnish, mechanics fine, crisp bright 3-groove rifled bore. PROVENANCE: ex-Bart Richards collection. (01-28081/JS). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
