MODEL PPK SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 301334k. Bbl. 3 1/4". Model PPK semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther under contract for the SS (Schutzstaffel). This example is listed by S# on page 70 of "SS Contract Walther PP/PPK Contract Variations & Serial Numbers", by Thomas Whiteman. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by markings stipulating Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Right side of the frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the chamber area of the frame, which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece Walther banner checkered mottled brown synthetic grip. Slide matches the frame via the full S# on the right side. MAGS: 1 dull blue 7-rd. mag., marked "301334 K/ 2" on the spine. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting light to mild edge wear (primarily on the slide), some light superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Front grip strap exhibits areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few scattered spots of pitting around the muzzle, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grip shows some age related warping, some smoothing to the checkering, and scattered superficial marks from handling and storage. Grip also shows some cracking around the top edges, with a small crack present on the left side that stems from the grip screw slot. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-463/MLW).
