Pre-War Walther Model 2 Auto-Loading Bolt Action Rifle, #14315, .22 cal., 24.5" barrel with blue finish. Finely checkered walnut full-length Mannlicher style one-piece pistol grip stock, with crown stag forend cap, round knob pistol grip, finger groove forend, sling swivels, and ends with a checkered Walther marked composite buttplate, providing a 14.25" LOP Sights include a ramped protected pin front, folding two-leaf express style rear sight; original rear sight base is filled with a dovetailed blank. Rifle also features an adjustable color case hardened trigger and includes one unmarked 5-round magazine. Right side of barrel shows German crown over "B" "U" "G" proofs, as well as the right rear of the receiver. Left side of barrel is marked with a German eagle, "(crown)/N" and "Nitro" in cursive script. Topped with two-piece bases, rings, and a vintage Zeiss Zielklein fixed 2.5x scope, #46646, with blue finish and German #4 reticle. Exterior of the scope shows moderate age and finish wear. Optics are clear. Rifle is in near fine overall condition, retaining approx. 93%-95% factory blue finish, with light scratches, thinning of finish, and some areas of fine pinprick pitting along the wood line. Receiver shows edgewear with scratches and a couple spots of fine pitting at the right rear. Trigger guard shows edgewear, mars, and thinning of finish. Stock is very good with scattered indentations and scuffs associated with field use. Edges of the Trolit buttplate have deteriorated, leaving the interior metal piece exposed. Action functions smoothly, bore is very good with well-defined rifling. Est.: $1,000-$1,200. (C&R)
