Pre-War German Exposed Hammer Side-by-Side Double Rifle, #NVSN, 9.3 cal., 26" barrels with full-length filed solid rib, blue and color case hardened finish. Finely checkered deluxe walnut straight grip stock and forend with sling swivel studs, horn Schnabel forend tip with Deeley & Edge fastener. Buttstock ends with a black spacer and deteriorated red rubber Silvers pad, providing a 13.25" LOP to the front trigger. This double rifle also features a two-blade front and two-leaf folding rear sight, double set triggers, Greener style crossbolt, and extended top and bottom tangs. There is fine scroll engraving on the action and side plates, no exterior factory markings, with early German firing and view proofs on the interior barrel flats and water table. Marked "118/35" confirming the 9.3 caliber. Topped with an offset 2.5x unmarked steel rifle scope, displaying japanned black finish, with early quick-detach rings. Scope shows wear and flaking finish, with some light surface erosion. Optics remain bright with a single horizontal cross hair with small dot reticle. Rifle is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 90%-92% toning finish, with muzzle wear and scattered areas of light pinprick pitting. Receiver displays muted original color case hardened finish, with 30%-40% coverage in fine scroll and border engraving. Stock is in fine condition, with minor indentations and marks consistent with field use. Checkering detail is near fine, with attractive figure in the buttstock. Action functions well, locking securely. Bores are fine with well-defined rifling. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (C&R)
