Cal. 38-55. S# 368846. Bbl. 26". Model 1894 lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1906. Top of the rnd. bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Metal components exhibit a professionally reapplied blue finish overall. Plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with crescent steel buttplate. Dovetailed German silver blade front sight with dovetailed semi-buckhorn V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of light pitting and some scattered spots / patches of mild pitting beneath the bluing. Most edges remain sharp, with factory markings remaining largely intact. Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting, as well as scattered spots and patches of moderate pitting, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with scattered patches of darker discoloration. Buttstock exhibits a 3/8" gouge along the toeline, a chip on the wrist along the upper receiver tang, as well as some scattered spots of finish loss, but otherwise remains sound. (25-6780/MLW).
