REMINGTON MODEL 11-48 SF PREMIER GRADE 410 SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN. Cal. .410. S# 4108031. Bbl. 25" with matted vent rib having white front and steel mid beads. Mfg in the Remington Custom Shop, the F-grade was the highest grade available; SF indicates combination of skeet configuration in the Premier grade. The 11-48 was a recoil operated shotgun produced from1949 to 1968. Action features full coverage foliate scroll engraving over matted background. Left side of action features two panel vignette of gold inlaid pointing bird dog overlooking a gold inlaid pheasant pair. Right side features gold inlaid pointer overlooking gold inlaid bobwhite pair. Breech end of bbl engraved with scrollwork extending 6" forward. Both sides of receiver engraved with an "E", indicating likely engraved Carl Ennis. Trim finger groove forearm and Remington hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of exhibition grade American black walnut is gloss finished. Fine "F" grade hand checkering. Oval brass presentation plate toeline is engraved "WFW". LOP: 13 7/8" over original Remington buttplate. CONDITION: very fine overall. Metal retains 98% original blue with very light muzzle wear. Engraving remains sharp and crisp. Stocks set is very good with only a few scattered handling marks. Bright bore has light plastic fouling. (26-282/BH). CURIO. $6,500-9,500.
