ACTION SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 GA. S# 13204. Bbl. 30". Top of the rnd. bbl. is marked with Marlin's mfg. and patent information having "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL." marked on the left. The sides of the receiver feature factory C grade engraving consisting of wavy line borders and scrollwork, with the left side exhibiting an oval scene of 4 flying mallards. Underside of receiver is engraved with a foliate motif around the S#. Wavy line border and scrollwork extend to the upper receiver tang, with the breechblock featuring 2 engraved pigeons having both sides terminating in scroll engraving. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Checkered walnut forend and pistol grip buttstock with grooved brown hard rubber Marlin buttplate. Raised matte knurled rib on receiver with white bead front sight. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, as well as scattered scratches and light surface oxidation. Top of bbl. exhibits an area of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Bore exhibits consistent light to mild pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows some wear to its varnish finish, as well as scattered superficial marks, scratches, and impressions. Buttstock has brown epoxy repaired crack that stems diagonally from the upper receiver tang and terminates into a large epoxy filled chip towards the center of the toeline; also has slight gap behind upper tang plus a couple of small voids in the epoxy fill.
