Cal. 25-20 M. S# 442606. Bbl. 15 1/4" with barley corn front sight, carbine ladder rear sight plus Lyman No. 1 tang sight. Mfg. 1894-1934; standard carbine curved buttstock plus saddle ring on receiver. Caliber was first developed by Marlin and later standardized by Winchester who made it popular. Caliber differences are bullet shapes and seating depths; one can safely shoot 25-20 Winchesters in 25-20 Marlin chambers. Rare trapper configuration that is specifically listed in BATFE curio list of Jan. 1972 to April 2025 plus within its included BATFE research letter whereby the rifle was specifically determined non NFA and curio. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Sept. 1997 BATFE letter confirming previous info. Letter lists barrel at 15" rather than its actual 15 1/4" length. CONDITION: good original condition with patina and light handling marks. Fair bore with wear and even light pitting. (26-1337/NW). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
