The name Long Elk is found on this revolver along with the English Letters "VC D Co 7." It is believed the letters are the initials of Vincent Charley, Company D, 7th Cavalry. Long Elk joined White Bull's band (Sitting Bull's nephew) and rode with him at Little Bighorn. One soldier was killed at High Peak (Weir Point) and Long Elk took his revolver.
